MOLISAN — SKIN & WOUND CARE SOLUTION
First aid for a fresh burn
- remove the heat source and stop further exposure;
- cool the burn under cool running water for at least 20 minutes;
- carefully remove nearby clothing and jewellery before swelling increases, unless stuck to the skin;
- do not apply ice;
- do not apply oil, fat, pastes or other thick home remedies;
- do not pull away material stuck to the skin.
When MOLISAN is used
MOLISAN — SKIN & WOUND CARE SOLUTION is used after initial cooling when the injury is suitable for external care. For a superficial burn, use MOLISAN without warming and without rubbing the damaged skin.
What to monitor
- area of injury;
- depth and skin-colour changes;
- blisters;
- pain and its change;
- swelling;
- exudate and surrounding skin.
When medical assessment is needed
- the burn is deep, white, dark or charred, or sensation is lost;
- a large area is involved;
- the face, hands, feet, major joints or genital area are involved;
- the burn is chemical or electrical;
- airway injury or smoke inhalation is suspected;
- pain, redness or swelling increases, or pus or fever develops;
- the person’s condition or circumstances raise concern.
Blisters and damaged skin
Blisters protect the surface underneath and should not be opened merely to treat the area. If a blister is already broken or the burn surface is open, further care depends on the tissue and the need for an appropriate cover.
Sunburn
Stop further sun exposure, cool the skin and use gentle care. MOLISAN may be used as water-based external care after cooling. Extensive damage, marked blisters, severe pain, weakness, fever or general illness requires assessment.
Why greasy products are not the first layer
On a fresh burn, a greasy layer interferes with cooling and reduces direct contact between water-based MOLISAN and the skin. The sequence is simple: cool first, then—if the burn is suitable—use water-based external care.
